Although Japan’s culture lies in sake production, in recent years, the craft beer scene here is booming. Currently, there are over 400 breweries in Japan. If you want to sample some brews, then one of the Tokyo craft beer bars which I recently visited may be what you are looking for.

CRAFTROCK BREW PUB & LIVE

CRAFTROCK BREW PUB & LIVE is a spacey beer pub in Tokyo which can accommodate up to 140 guests. It is located on the 1st floor of Coredo Muromachi Terrace, next to the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi/Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a perfect stop to drop by while sightseeing. The nearest station is Mitsukoshimae Station on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line and Ginza Line.

This brewery is a unique place serving music-inspired craft beers. Hosting the perfect atmosphere to kick back, it comes with a fantastic line up of locally brewed craft beers by Japanese artisans.

Check out the interior design of the brewery:

On top of the wide seating space, the place draws in crowds with its lovely designed wooden tables and chairs. You will definitely love a high ceiling and spacey interior!

In the back of the bar, you’ll find nothing but the best domestic and imported beers, all made using the freshest ingredients available. Up to five types of beer are served directly from their tanks to ensure the freshest quality.

I ordered the famous Loaded Fries, displayed on the store banner, which turned out to be a great deal and came with a seat overlooking the brewery.

And also ordered delicious beer from the menu.

Watching the brewing tank in the business district of Nihonbashi while drinking was also in the pipeline for my enjoyment!

At first, I got a fresh beer directly served from the tank. Drink comparison set came with three samples, to definitely win for wow factor.
From the right: Ordinary Boys, Honolulu Hoppy Wheat, Joy Hopposites.

Ordinary Boys:
a strong malt taste, which makes it a perfect fit for bitter beer lovers. It has a low alcohol content of 3% – feel free to grab a glass and chill out at noon.

Honolulu Hoppy Wheat:
sweet and easy to drink, good for beginners. If you’re a fan of pineapple or coconut scents, this one’s for you. Recommended for drinking in big gulps.

Joy Hopposites:
if you’re after a great punch, go for it. A perfect taste of alcohol and bitterness. It has been released in collaboration with Joy Rocks, an alternative rock band. Next time, I definitely want to drink while listening to this band.

Sunrise,Sunrise:
fruity, with a spicy aftertaste. A distinct coriander presence.

Hoppin’ a ride:
simple and easy to drink. Since it originated from Australia, feels like summer vibes.

Minor Chord:
easy to drink even for those who are newbies with IPA. Sweet but bitter with a mixed and absolutely fantastic taste.

Here, you’ll find an extensive range of different beer to cater for all tastes and preferences.
Of course, all reviews are my personal opinions so feel free to go and check it out by yourself. Although it doesn’t have classic beers in a menu, its impressive line-up of craft beer changes regularly and showcases an exclusive selection of the finest brews.

Take your pick out of the pint (473 ml), half (250 ml), or 3 types of drink comparison sets (150 ml each), if you are up for a good evening. I personally recommend you to start from the drink comparison set and select three types of beer samples.

CRAFTROCK BREW PUB & LIVE has English menu, also some staff can speak English. Most of the staff members are actually playing live music at the bar which supports musicians and serves as a bridge between music and craft beer culture.Get a craft beer in that hand as you sway to the beat that matches your drink.
Original T-shirts are on sale to preserve good memories about the brewery. Get yourself a cracking night at the brewery in Nihonbashi!
